Explorers: Tristian, Bjorn, Alden, Tate, Berg, Nolan — Day 5

Tristian, Bjorn, Alden, Tate, Berg, and Nolan all accounted for.

Main topic for today was fore & aft balance. As I’ve said before, most of us are more on the backs of our skis than we need to be. It’s a challenge to stand on the middle of our skis let alone apply pressure toward the front of our skis when we want or need to. How we land from a jump many times shows how we were balanced along the length of our skis when we take off from the surface.

List of runs we skied

  1. Sleepy Hollow > Pinball > Tilt
  2. Ramble On > Never Summer/Geno’s Meadows
  3. Bathroom break in lower main lodge
  4. Sleepy Hollow Trees > Pinball > Tilt > 360s on Lower Little Joe
  5. Little Mo >  Docs Run > Tilt360s on Lower Little Joe
  6. High Anxiety > Tilt360s on Lower Little Joe
  7. Zipper > Tilt360s on Lower Little Joe
  8. Ramble On > Geno’s Meadows
  9. Sleepy Hollow Trees > Pinball > Tilt360s on Lower Little Joe
  10. Upper Hall’s Alley > Lower Hall’s Alley
  11. B’s Bash > Tilt360s on Lower Little Joe
  12. Hall’s Gulley (between Hall’s Alley & B’s Bash)
  13. Shear-Rock O > Tilt360s on Lower Little Joe

360’s on groomed terrain was huge for figuring out where we’re standing on our our skis relative to the length of our skis, plus it’s fun.
